Playing their last regular season game at Jackson Field, the Wildcats, led by their senior keeper Christian Alvarez would not be denied. After falling down 1-0 early, the boys settled down and began to string passes together. Around the 25th minute all the hard work paid off as Marco Alvarez followed in a shot and was rewarded when the keeper could not keep it. The second half saw the Wildcats pressing the Bremen defense. Three times the Bremen defenders cleared balls off the line. After 80 minutes the teams were tied 1-1. After an additional 14 minutes of extra time the game was still tied. Penalty kicks are the way Conference games are decided after 94 minutes of play. Christian Alvarez the goalie for the Wildcats came up big. He saved three of the five penalty shots and the Seniors went out winners at Jackson Field! Sectionals are up next for the Wildcats as they finish the regular season 8-8 and 6th in the expanded NIC league.
