News · Riley Wildcats Celebrates Fall Sports Awards






Riley High School has much to celebrate as the Fall Sports season concludes. Most notably we have 6 athletes make the NIC All-Academic team: Nia Thomas (Volleyball), Connor Kingston (Football and Soccer), Luis Herrera (Boys Soccer), and Marissa Kenney and Maria Coman (Cross Country). All conference awards were also received in Football, Volleyball, Cross Country and Soccer.

Football had 8 student – athletes awarded for their on field efforts. 1st team includes: Gavin Luuga-Offensive Line; Chris White -Wide Receiver; Tyson Lee-Defensive Line; Kobe Luuga-Defensive Back. 2nd team includes Senator Brown-Quarterback and Sylvester Orozco-Strong Safety. Honorable Mention includes Gage Luuga-Defensive line and Jalen Cummings Running back.

Boys Cross Country earned a 2nd team in Kevin Liddell and Honorable Mention in Michael Burns.

Boys Soccer had 4 athletes receives all conference awards. Jose Gonzalez, defender, and Conor Kingston, midfielder, earned 1st team: Brandon Molina, midfielder, was 2nd team and Cody Andis was Honorable Mention defender.

Girls Soccer has 3 ladies recognized. Kamille Liddell, forward, was 1st team; Yusisa Morales, defender, earned 2nd team and Rachel Sanchez was Honorable Mention Forward.

Volleyball is represented by Allison Pflugner as Honorable Mention Setter.

The Final NIC results place Riley in 4th place behind Penn, St. Joe, and Bremen in the Boy’s all-sports standings. We look to add to that total as Winter sports are beginning.
